When we played this newly designed flamenco guitar, we were very surprised and overwhelmed with admiration. Truly impressive of how price and quality do not need to be mutually exclusive. All the know-how, experience and build quality of the Vicente Carrillo workshop applied to a very affordable flamenco guitar, yet good opponent of first class guitars. With a solid spruce top, solid cypress back and sides, ebony fingerboard and thin lacquer, she clearly is a Carrillo with powerful basses, brilliant trebles and a prominent flamenco timbre. The balance between the basses and trebles is very good with an excellent transition between low and high. Thanks to the low action, the 650mm scale length and the new, thinner neck, she plays remarkably easy. A real opportunity for those looking for a major step forward in sound and playability.

Vicente Carrillo was born in Casasimarro, Cuenca, on 31st July 1963. His professional experience comes from a very long history of the Carrillo family, out of which he is the seventh generation of guitar makers.

El maestro Paco de Lucía used Vicente Carrillo guitars during the performances and recordings of the album 'Cositas Buenas'.

In November 2010 Vicente Carrillo has been awarded with the national Spanish artisan award. This award recognizes the work that seven generations of the Carrillo guitar making family have accomplished. For his artisan work, Vicente Carrillo has received admirations from all over the world including the king of Spain.

Carrillo guitars are well known for their very special sound that brings forward a noticeable balance between deep, powerful basses and sweet sounding trebles. His constant innovative efforts through different construction techniques allow him to evolve and to accommodate the needs and desires of professional guitarists such as Niño Josele, Cañizares, Tomatito, Antonio Rey, Josemi Carmona...
