An exclusive flamenco guitar developed by flamenco guitarist Jerónimo Maya, luthier Lazarides and La Sonanta. Played by Jerónimo Maya on his class DVD and his latest CD 'Como Soy'. This particular flamenco guitar has a gorgeous mother of pearl rosette and purflings resembling, honouring the ancient Mezquita of Córdoba, Spain. The unique, slim ergonomic neck greatly facilitates playing thanks to a larger support base of the thumb.
It all started when Jerónimo Maya was at La Sonanta to discuss the recordings of his DVD classes. When trying some of our guitars, Jerónimo was excited about the Lazarides guitars. After playing for hours and hours, he suggested many improvements. When sharing all this information with us, we decided to bring Jerónimo and Lazarides together. Inspired and thrilled by the recommendations of a professional flamenco guitarist, Lazarides started to redesigned his flamenco guitar. We had to postpone the recording session several times enabling Jerónimo Maya to use this particular flamenco guitar on his DVD classes and CD recordings. Since Jerónimo and ourselves were so impressed, even though we knew Lazarides had limited capacity to construct only a few of these guitars each year, we simply had to offer this rare opportunity to guitarists all over the world.
Vassilis integrated the bracing patterns and body parts of a historical Arabic khitar, a new partially flat neck, a modified top and a lower string action. She is exactly as a flamenco guitar should sound. Vassilis succeeded in developing a flamenco guitar that, already in new condition, has the enchanting chitarra sound of an old Esteso. A lightweight flamenco with a top level ergonomic playability, an extremely quick response, a perfect balance between beautiful dark basses and singing trebles, very tasteful inlays and an excellent French polish finish. One of the most beautiful flamenco guitars, an instrument for the most demanding guitarist. Jerónimo Maya signed the label of this guitar in the top right corner.
