A new Miguel Rodríguez inspired blanca at an affordable price. Available in December 2024.
Made from the rare old aged stock of tonewoods from the late Miguel Rodríguez, this Graciliano Pérez cypress spruce has a feather-like weight, an enormous power and a very particular, distinctive crispy flamenco sound with the enchanting timbre of an old flamenco guitar. Strongly influenced by Graciliano's friendship with the late Miguel Rodríguez (also from Cordoba), she is very reminiscent in sound of an older Manuel Reyes (also from Cordoba) from the 60s and early 70s projecting this very particular, old world rich sound. Graciliano's guitars are played by great flamenco guitarists including Vicente Amigo who has already several Graciliano flamencos and used them during the recording sessions of his latest CD ‘Tierra’. She has the character and style of the great true Andalucian flamencos over the past century.
Graciliano Pérez Carrizosa, born on June 23rd 1955 in Puertollano Ciudad Real, moved to Cordoba at the age of nine where he started playing flamenco guitar and met the renowned master luthier Miguel Rodríguez Beneyto of Cordoba. Graciliano lived in the same street where the workshop of the very young Rodríguez was located. After attending several courses at the Conservatory of Music in Cordoba and studying guitar music with Manuel Cano, Graciliano thoroughly analysed the instruments of Pérez Rodríguez, eventually learning how to build his own guitars, always driven by the particular sound qualities and playability. Besides his friendship with the Rodríguez family, Graciliano Perez is also a close friend of Vicente Amigo who advises Graciliano intensively about playability and sound. As a result, Graciliano's guitars are strongly influenced by the late Miguel Rodríguez and the continuous exchanges with Vicente Amigo.
