LOLA FERNÁNDEZ'S BIOGRAPHY
Born in Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo (Córdoba - Spain), Lola Fernández is a professor of piano, music theory and composition. Her educational work is mainly focused on teaching flamenco musicology, flamenco music theory, transcriptiosn and improvisations at the conservatories of Murcia and Cordoba. She also is a professor at the institute of musical education Emilio Molina (IEM) in the specialty of flamenco and a regular speaker during flamenco classes at the university of Alcala de Henares. Her work includes several publications such as the book of flamenco music theory which won the research award at the International Festival of Cante de las Minas Union. As a composer she participated in several premieres, recordings and soundtracks for theater, dance, audiovisual and movies.
